You can ask us to delete your MojiTax account at any time, and we will. This page explains how to ask, what happens when you do, how long it takes, and the small set of records we keep afterwards, and why. It applies however you use MojiTax — the website, the learning platform and the MojiTax mobile app are all one account.
Read this first. Deleting your account takes effect straight away, not at the end of the month. Your access to every course ends immediately, and if you have an active subscription it is cancelled immediately — we do not refund the remainder of a period you have already paid for. If you want to stop paying but keep studying until the period you have paid for runs out, cancel the subscription and keep the account instead. And if you would like a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us for it before you delete, because we cannot produce it once the data is gone.
There are two confirmation steps on purpose, and the second one is the point of no return: the app cannot undo the request afterwards. The app then deletes the offline downloads held on that device and signs you out.
You do not need the app, and you do not need to be able to sign in. Email compliance@mojitax.com from the email address on your account, asking us to delete it. There is no charge, and you do not need an active subscription to ask. If we cannot match the address you write from to an account we may ask you for further information first, so that we do not delete the wrong person's account. We respond within one month, as the UK GDPR requires, and usually much sooner.
This is the route to use if you have uninstalled the app, if you have only ever used the website, or if you can no longer sign in. There is no delete button on the website itself.
If you ask in the app, all of the following is immediate. If you write to us, it happens when we action your message, which we do within one month and usually much sooner.
Our Data Office completes the erasure within 30 days of your request. The personal data we hold about you is deleted, and the account record itself is anonymised: your name, email address, password, profile picture and any linked sign-in identifiers are removed from it, so that it can no longer identify you.
What is deleted in that window includes your enrolments, course progress, assessment attempts and results, study plans, study-group membership, email preferences, trial history, download records, activity history, your messages to our support team, your conversations with @moji (our AI chat assistant), and your questions to your Consultant together with the replies to them. Messages you sent us through the contact form, and any event registrations made under your email address, are deleted too. If you chatted with @moji as a guest using your email address before creating your account, your name and email address are removed from those chat records as well.
Your account stays deactivated until the erasure is finished, and nobody can sign in to it. Your data is not used for anything in the meantime. Records removed by the erasure are first copied into a restricted internal store so that an erasure carried out in error can be reversed; that copy is not used for any other purpose.
We are honest about this rather than burying it: deleting your account does not delete everything. Four things survive, and none of them is used to contact you, to market to you, or to build a profile of you.
We will also keep anything else the law requires us to keep — for example to comply with a legal obligation, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
If you cannot use the app and cannot send us an email, call us on +44 7476 922496, or write to us at our registered office, which is at the foot of this page, and we will action the request for you. We will need enough information to be satisfied that the account is yours before we delete it.
Email compliance@mojitax.com about anything to do with this process. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your request, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
